From our very first visit, we noticed that the children in her care are happy, relaxed, and surrounded by kindness. Jennifer made the settling-in period gentle and reassuring. There’s a beautiful back garden space with outdoor play equipment, and her team really make the most of this. We love that the children regularly go on local outings (they head to parks, soft play, the woods, and more) giving them wonderful experiences and opportunities to move and play in different places. Jennifer puts so much thought into everything she does, from her healthy, home-cooked meals to the diary updates and lovely photos she sends us. She shares our values around food, screens, outdoor play, and gentle communication and it shows in the atmosphere when you walk in the door and see the way the children play and interact, both with each other, and with adults. She has managed our child’s allergies with the utmost care and attention and we feel he is in the safest possible hands. My son joined Jennifer and her team a few months back (at 14 months old) and I was so anxious to leave him. Our daughter started with Jennifer and her team back in January when she was 18 months old. With a flexible and kind settling in period, she very quickly toddled in excited to play. I am so happy that she has such lovely, playful and jolly adults and kids consistently in her life. She talks about them all the time. I didn't think I'd ever feel content leaving her in the care of someone else but I know that she has so much fun, sleeps well, eats well, is listened to and is loved for who she is. They also have MUCH better toys than we do which helps. I cannot recommend more highly. Jennifer runs the place compassionately and with such a happy energy. Communication is personal and clear. Our daughter started her journey with Jennifer and Maria at Lullaby Lane Childcare when she was just 10 months old. As a first-time mom, I worried about everything and visited over 10 nurseries and childminders around the Crystal Palace and Forest Hill area. Lullaby Lane stood out by far, and choosing them helped ease my worries, knowing my daughter would be in the best hands. Jennifer is an energetic, loving, and incredibly caring childminder who truly understands each child as an individual, tailoring her care to their unique needs. The setting itself is warm, homely, and always clean, with plenty of toys and books to keep the little ones engaged. Meals are freshly cooked with a variety of vegetables and fruits—something I really appreciate. My daughter is quite picky at home, but at Lullaby Lane, she eats so well! One of the things I love most is how Jennifer takes the kids on different outings—to the park, museums, soft play, and the library—always introducing them to new experiences. The communication is also fantastic. We receive updates throughout the day, along with photos, which always brighten my day and give me peace of mind. Most importantly, the biggest reassurance for me is seeing my daughter’s reaction at drop-off. Every morning, I worry she might cry, but as soon as she sees Jennifer or Maria, she stretches out her arms for a cuddle—no hesitation. That says it all. They have made the start of our childcare journey as easy and relaxed as it can be. They really work with the children as individuals and tailor their care to each child. I never thought someone else would be able to get my daughter to sleep without boob and carrier, but they worked with her, gave her lots of cuddles and strokes, and found a way to get her to sleep...and now she naps easier at home too! Our son loves going to childcare in the morning, often demanding to be let in as soon as possible when we ring the doorbell. One of the things that is really unique and special about lullaby lane is how often they go out. Almost every day they will go to a play group, an activity, or to the local park. The updates on the app make us feel really connected to our son’s day. Jennifer provides delicious home cooked healthy foods for the children, which our son absolutely adores. They have also done baking together. Things like this really help the children explore and try new foods. If possible I would give even more stars than 5. Returning to work can be really challenging for parents but trusting that our son was so well looked after, loved and cared for has made it a much easier transition. Jennifer and Maria have had such an impact already on the formative years of our son and we couldn’t be more thankful. Our son started his journey with Jennifer and Maria in October 2024 and we couldn't be happier with our choice. We had just moved into the area and after changing our minds about a nursery that we had selected, Jennifer was so quick at accommodating our son, despite the urgency on his start date. She organised his tax free childcare on the same day, sent us all the contracts and documents we needed, and in a couple of days he was already under their care. Jennifer is incredibly professional, organised, communicative and transparent so that as a parent, you always feel clearly informed and confident that your child is in excellent hands. As soon as we met her and Maria and entered their space, we instantly felt calm, relaxed and at home. The space is extremely clean, tidy and full of varied toys and activities for the children. Our son always looks happy in the space and stimulated by the choice of books and toys he can interact with. The kids also seem to have developed friendships and play happily together, which is really sweet to see. Jennifer and Maria were born to be childminders. They are so sweet, loving and caring while also fun and active, making sure the children are always learning and intellectually stimulated, be it with daily outings in nature, playgrounds or play groups, arts and crafts activities at home or learning through reading, singing and educational games. They encourage good behaviour and emotional development through positive encouragement and deal with conflict between children in a very gentle and positive way too, which is testimony to their experience and professionalism. I also always have time to sit for a bit with them all when I pick my son up, have a nice chat and get to know them both slowly, which is a joy, as they are such wonderful women. The most important thing is for us parents to feel calm and happy knowing that our son is under great care and that he is spending his day with loving people who we know will take excellent care of him.
